Alex Burr is an Emmy-nominated writer, producer and director based in Vancouver, BC. Over the past decade, he has built a career creating award-winning documentaries and series for international audiences.  Impeccable visual storytelling, complicated logistics, and true collaboration is what makes Alex tick. He has guided the creative vision on multiple complex multimillion dollar projects, while keeping them on track and on budget. Beyond broadcast, he has helped to shepherd series and feature documentaries to fully-funded commission, while managing digital media and growing the audience of multiple social media channels by 70K users.

Nominated for an Emmy for his directing work on Netflix’s Island of the Sea Wolves (2022), Alex has been a part of multiple award-winning productions including Grasslands: A Hidden Wilderness (2020) (Jackson Wild World Wildlife Day Winner) and The Wild Canadian Year (2017) (Canadian Screen Awards Best Science and Nature Program).
